Bigelow Brook Culvert

CULVERT REPLACEMENT AT EDGERTON STREET AND ABANDONED RAILROAD EMBANKMENT

Project Description:

Replacement of existing series of box culverts which convey Bigelow Brook beneath Edgerton Street and the adjacent abandoned railroad embankment.   Edgerton Street has been closed in this area since 2009 for safety reasons due to the deteriorated culvert system.   This project will also include the installation of a prefabricated steel truss bridge to provide a pedestrian connection between Center Springs Park and Broad Street while maintaining the existing railroad bed elevation.   The project also includes the reconstruction of Edgerton Street in the vicinity of the culvert.
